Build from source

Batuta does not currently publish signed binary releases or an official npm package. The unscoped npm name belongs to another project. Build this repository locally instead.

Rust 1.74 or newer
Cargo

Install the reviewed source

# Remote install disabled until a signed release of the integrated HEAD exists

Maintainers may build only the already reviewed working tree with: cargo install --locked --path crates/batuta

Then inspect before integrating

batuta version
batuta index
batuta install-hooks
batuta privacy

install-hooks writes the hook script and prints the settings block for you to review and paste. It does not edit the agent configuration file automatically.
